After waiting 2 hours to board our flight, we finally had the chance to embark on our nine hour journey across the Atlantic. On the flight, not only did we learn many new German phrases such as "schwimmweste unter dem sitz" meaning "life vest under the seat", but we also had the chance to watch "The Bounty Hunter" and "Valentine's Day." Unfortunately, for many of us it was a sleepless flight followed by a long layover of 2 and a half hours in the Frankfurt airport. After the second short journey throught the air, we found ourselves riding a charter bus through the scenic Florence countryside to A&M's campus in the Santa Chiara Study Center. Looking over a vast valley full of antique homes and olive orchards, the only thing the campus lacked was air conditioning. After situating ourselves in our dorms, we took a tour of the town and returned for a wonderful dinner of penne with tomatoe sauce, chicken in some other type of sauce, salad, and all finished of with a dessert of ice cream sandwiches and fresh fruit. But the dessert didn't stop there, for we then ventured out into the town for some fantastic gelato.
